I need to write about last Friday. For some strange, unexpected reason it ended up being the most weird night among all the weird and strange nights here in Seoul.
It began as these kind of nights do: you don’t feel like going out. It’s Friday. It is getting late. But you don’t feel like doing anything. You just feel lazy and wanna relax with your water-pipe at home…
I went actually drumming before. I had plans of going for Korean pork barbecue (sangyob-sal) with Fernando and Luke. But I felt lazy.
Anyway, we met up at aroud 20:30h at Hongdae Station. Yeah, it’s not a very “new” spot, I guess… it’s just the clubbing area next to my place. I actually walked there. It took longer than I thought, though… around thirty minutes.
And we went to “US 66″ bar. Yeah, more of the same. I’ve been there only a few hundreds of times :-p… So nothing seemed interesting… hehe…
Luke and Jason were kinda talking “privately”. I don’t like getting into other people’s business… so I never asked… but it seemed that these guys had this plan… anyway…
Lina and her flatmate Anna got there too. We waited for some other people that were joining us: Fernando’s summer camp co-workers.
But the atmosphere was *WEIRD*. I mean *WEIRD*. People kind of tense-talking… you know, this kinda shit when you don’t really wanna be there…
So Lina, Anna and I left the place. These guys went into a club: TOOL. It’s ok, but we felt the atmosphere plus it was a little bit early for getting in…
And we drunk. Three of us. It was nice. Talking. Drinking.
Later, Lina asked us if we wanted to join some friends of her. We said “sure”. And we joined them in Sinchon. That is the area where I live. We went to one of these “Temples Of The Alcoholic” named “HOF” here in Korea. The place was *HUGE*. Really big. And we met these people. I don’t know how many: around twenty or maybe more. I don’t know. I could feel the party-outgoing-alcoholic mood there (specially the latest one :-ppp).
After a while the owner and the bar tenders of this bar that recently open up in Sinchon joined us. I know them through Yune, my this year’s language exchange partner. I won’t name it now
And I saw the first thing which I hadn’t seen so far in Korea. This girl. It seemed she was the girlfriend of one of the bartenders. And she was kissing and kinda touching him in public. That is exceptional here. It’s not common at all. But the most strange of all is that she was sitting over his supposed-to-be boyfriend’s laps… while being touched and kissed by this other Korean big, kinda-older guy. Yeah. That’s so weird. And it kept like that for a long time.
The other bartender. It’s funny. He is a great guy. I like him a lot. Really nice and outgoing. But the fact that makes it funny is that one hour ago Anna had been talking about him. Just by chance. She said that she went with her husband to that bar… and the bartender… she thought he was gay or something… because he was the whole time talking to *HER HUSBAND*. I don’t know why, but he kept talking to *ME ONLY* xDDDDDDDDDDd Pretty funny.
We were getting drunk. Pretty drunk.
And then *IT* happened. I’m not sure how because I was already pretty drunk… but the second bartender put his pants down and took his penis out. Everyone could see it. And *HE PEE HIMSELF*. Just there standing over the table xDDDDDD. The he sited next to Lina… and she was kinda freaking out… and I was drunk and was kinda cool and laughing… xDDDDDDDD
And we left to have some shisha. The three of us: Anna, Lina and me. And we saw it. It has been the most disturbing scene of my whole life. This Korean guy was beating this girl up. Actually the most disturbing of all was *THE NOISE*. This motherfucker was punching the girls’ face. And the sound was her head hitting the Pizza Hut’s glass wall which was behind her. Amazing. I was drunk and went to him straight. I don’t know why. And Lina and Anna came also. And… I kinda grabbed the guy’s hand. Softly, nothing big. My friends asked him why he was doing that. He said that she said she wanted to sleep with another guy. It was all weird. Just at the middle of the street. There was a friend of the girl who was being beaten up just there. I don’t really know if she was just waiting to take the corpse home or something like that. And also this old Korean woman kinda yelling. But doing nothing.
We left. I guess the guy stopped. I don’t really know.
